10 May 2007 - Sex and Relationships Education

You may recall that earlier in the year we held a couple of evenings for parents to discuss the new Programmes of Study for this curriculum area.  In addition some parents have been attending the 'Speak Easy' course that has been running this term at school. Parents who attended these meetings were very positive about the changes that we were making and we are now informing you that we will begin to teach these Programmes of Study over the next two terms.  If you would like a copy of the Programmes of Study, or indeed to view the CD Rom that accompanies the programme you are welcome to contact the office to access either or both.  We are required to inform you that Sex Education is one area of the curriculum from which you may remove your child.  However we trust that you will support us in ensuring that this curriculum is seen as part of a whole curriculum and not something special or separate.  If you wish to take such action, please discuss the matter with Mr Stabbs before you make your decision.
